• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

Issue Plesk is sending repeated renewal notifications for LetsEncrypt - why?

Graham Jones

New Pleskian
Every morning I get a notification email saying that the LetsEncrypt certificate for one of my domains has been renewed.

The certificate is valid until November.

The certificate is NOT being renewed according to LetsEncrypt.

Yet, every morning I get a notification email saying the certificate has been renewed.

This only applies to ONE domain.

None of the other domains on the same server are leading to these daily notifications.

What is going wrong and how do I fix it?

Plesk appears to believe that the LetsEncrypt certificate is being renewed each day for one domain when that is not the case.

Perhaps the notification is related to the certificate in the main subscription which is not being used.
Go to Subscription > example.com > SSL/TLS Certificates > Advanced Settings and remove the certificate for example.org which is not being used.

Note: if the certificate is being used it will have have a number greater than 0 in the Used column.
