• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Plesk ISO are not bootable into Hyper-v

I haven't tried the Plesk iso's to install, I just install Ubuntu with SSH and once that has done I install Plesk.
Now doing a test install on my Hyper-V setup, lets see what happens...

Booted into the Ubuntu installer
Rebooted and logged in
Now tailing the autoinstaller3.log
Installing Plesk

At what point are you unable to boot? Once Plesk is installed?

Thanks for your answer.
I think its not compatible Hyper-v Gen2 (2012R2), the system unable to find bootable device with this ISO
I managed to install UBUNTU and CENTOS (after few adjustments), but still cannot boot from Plesk's ISO
I will install it manually.

@Oren_Kataby

It is not a Plesk related issue, one should not simply use the Plesk 12 ISO images (as provided on http://odin.com/products/plesk/download/) on Hyper-V systems.

In general, one should

  1. Install an appriopriate (Linux) OS on a Hyper-V based VM,
  2. Install Plesk separately, by preference using a dedicated (to the VM attached) hard disk, containing the full Plesk installation,
  3. Capture the full image, if a dedicated hard disk has not been used (note that "capture" is not all identical to copying VHDs) OR
  4. Create a new VM with identical OS and attach the dedicated hard disk, if a dedicated hard disk has been used.
Note that the use of a dedicated hard disk is somewhat more advanced and can cause various problems and, as a result, first try to capture a full image (see point 3).

Also note that some preparations have to be made, before an image can be created, with this preparations being
  1. Prepare the Plesk Panel for cloning (this requires some command line interaction) - see various KB articles,
  2. Prepare the Hyper-V VM for capturing - see various online articles on the internet.
Note that it is "good practice" to do a clean install of the (Linux) OS AND the Plesk installation, in order to prevent various issues and/or errors.

After all, it is not that time-consuming to do a (for instance) Ubuntu install and, afterwards, a clean Plesk installation.

Kind regards....
