• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Plesk Migration Manager Question

Hi Everybody,
Due to kernel failure I might be force to do an OS reinstall. I'm in RHE3 and Plesk 7.5.4.
My server hosting company is giving me an option of doing the OS reinstall in a separate hard drive and at the same time keeping the old hard drive, which contains all the data from my current server (Plesk client and domain data) in the same machine for one week.

So my question is:
Can I use Migration Manager to migrate all my plesk data from one hard drive to another in the same box after OS and plesk is reinstalled?

I would appreciate any feedback.

Thanks

Well, there is such possibility - migrating of data from chrooted environment, according to Plesk 7.5 Reloaded manual, though I've never done it myself so I can't say if it works ok:

If you ask me - the better way is to try to create regular Plesk dump or migration manager dump on this server, while it's still running.

You can do it with psadump utility for BU or PleskX.pl script for PMM.

What this about the kernel error and why can't it be fixed to update on the same HD?
