  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Issue Plesk Migration Manager re-sync not working as expected

Peter McBane

New Pleskian
Hi everyone,

we recently tried to migrate a Plesk 12 based mail server to another server running Plesk Onyx. The first migration using the migration manager worked absolutely flawlessly. No errors, everything's been transferred.

Shortly before the actual DNS-switch, we wanted to do a re-sync for some subscriptions. It started working and we soon noticed that the /var/qmail/mailnames folder of the first subscription it started working on soon was 10 GB larger than the same dir on the source server.

Also the transfer took very long. The actual difference was only a few mails.

Can you tell me what's going on here? The re-sync feature doesn't make sense if it takes hours to run and transfers GB's worth of data although there have been only a few changes.

Thank you for any input!
