Plesk Obsidian 18.0.79: Security Audit, Expanded REST API, and Microsoft SQL Server 2025 Support

Hi,

WHMCS breaks with this.

I updated to version 18.0.79 and there is an API Mismatch.

"Plesk API Response: Protocol version '1.6.3.0' is not supported. Current protocol version is '1.6.9.1'."

I got this as an answer from WHMCS support.

We have checked with the Plesk team and confirmed that they are aware of the issue, and upgrading the Plesk server to 18.0.79 is recommended to resolve this.
So turning off the Deprecated Warning is required.

However does using that ancient API version that WHMCS have any impact with 18.0.79 ??

Also anything below 18.0.79 (Like 18.0.78) will stay broke until you update whatever on your side ??

Thanks

Hi, @Ladylinux . According to the WHMCS team, their module is already intended to use 1.6.9.1 by design. So, I am not entirely sure where the error originates from in the first place. If you have an open case with support already, please ask them to further clarify that matter.

If for some reason you cannot update Plesk above 18.0.79, the issue could be mitigated on older versions by applying the following workaround:

However, that exposes a serious security risk and should be used as a last resort. Also, panel.ini changes are kept intact during the upgrades, so the change should be manually reverted after the upgrade.

Hi,

Thanks :)

I can't get it to work with older versions maybe because when I use allowedips that does not seem to work

Maybe its using IPV6 or who knows

And WHMCS is not answering me as to what to do about 1.6.9.1 and even at that I can't update to 9.X WHMCS

If I sort this out I will update this

Thanks!!
