  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Issue Plesk Onyx 17.0.17 Update 23 causes extremely high CPU load

Pieter_h

New Pleskian
Hi there,

I run a forum (IP.Board) on a Plesk Onyx VM. After Update 23 on April 18th, something causes an extremely high CPU load. I am running the latest version of IP.Board, have disabled all plugins and customizations, but the issue remains.

Given that the issues started right after the update to 17.0.17 Update 23, I am suspecting that this has something to do with it.

With Yum, I cannot rollback this update unfortunately. What do you recommend to do to resolve this issue?

Thanks,
Pieter

I will look at it - although it does not appear to be the case that there are too many processes running. It's just one or two concurrent php processes that are taking up all the CPU power.

Any idea on how to revert this particular update?

Update 23 are php security updates, i would not recommend reverting this.

If the board ran fine before with the same configuration then there is a good change that IP.Board isnt compatible with the new php version.
If rebooting the server and cleaning /var/run/mod_fcgid/sock/ doesn't help then you might need to contact the creators of IP.Board. As far as i can look it up this is commercial software, they should fix incompatibilities, not you reverting security updates.

Regards
Jan
