• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

TITLE:
Plesk Onyx 17.8.10 (testing) wrong updated offered
PRODUCT, VERSION, OPERATING SYSTEM, ARCHITECTURE:
Plesk 17.8.10
CentOS is 7.4.1708, Kernel 3.10.0-693
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
I'm using Dovecot for IMAP/POP, but after upgrading to 17.8.10 from 17.5.3#40 in the home page I'm offered update for "psa-courier-unicode 2.0-0centos.7.180209.1700"

Same in Tools & settings -> System Updates".

On "Updates & Upgrades", on the other hand, no update is listed as available.

I don't think the "Courier" upgrade is relevant to my setup and I'm also dubious about following the advice and install it as I'm afraid it could interact with my Dovecot setup...
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Upgarde from 17.5.3 to 17.8.10 while having Dovecot configured as the POP/IMAP handler
ACTUAL RESULT:
- After upgrading, a Courier update is offered (psa-courier-unicode 2.0-0centos.7.180209.1700) in the home page
- Inconsistent results between the two available updates "methods"
EXPECTED RESULT:
- No Courier updates should be offered
- Consistent results between the two available updates "methods"

Have you tried to fix it with

# plesk installer --select-release-current --reinstall-patch --upgrade-installed-components

?

Hello Igor!

First I tried a "plesk installer --select-release-current --show-components" and here is the result:
Code:
# plesk installer --select-release-current --show-components
...

as you can see Courier is listed as "[install]" (meaning that it is not installed, right?), while I see that Plesk Migrator is listed for upgrade (but I'm not offered that upgrade in the Panel), then I tried what you suggested:
Code:
# plesk installer --select-release-current --reinstall-patch --upgrade-installed-components
...
Installing packages

The changes were applied successfully.
After that I re-issued the "--show-components" command with the same results as above, save for Plesk Migrator that is now listed as [up2date] even though I didn't saw any message about it being updated in the console.

On the panel (even after a logout-login cycle) Courier is still offered... :-(

Should I try the suggested upgrade from the panel?

I forgot to mention that in the meanwhile I also received a "Package Update Manager notification" via email:
Code:
The following package updates are available:
- psa-courier-unicode 2.0-0centos.7.180209.1700 from PLESK_17_8_10-extras repo (currently installed version: 1.2-centos7.17031414 from PLESK_17_5_3-extras repo)

.. it might be that in a very early stage of my server history, at first installation with Plesk 12.0, I used Courier (I'm not sure, though...), but immediately transitioned to Dovecot.

What is output of command

# rpm -qa | grep courier

on your server?

Yes, I suppose it is because of some orphaned courier package :)
