Plesk panel is redirected to localhost

Achille @ Roundbox

New Pleskian
Hello,
I'm a newbie of Plesk and I'm sorry if it is a silly question, but I was unable to find the solution on my own.

I'm using Plesk version 12.5.30 (upgraded from 11.5 originally installed) on a centOS 6.6 server.

When I try to connect to the panel with https://domain:8443, the browser is redirect to https://[main linux user].localhost, e.g. https://admin22334455.localhost

I some old threads for older versions i read that it can be caused from /etc/hosts file, but I'm not able to make it work.

Can anyone help me?

Achille,

You can change the hostname via the Plesk Panel: go to Tools & Settings > Server settings and change the hostname.

If the problem persists, be aware that you have to check both the /etc/hosts and the /etc/hostname file for any strange entries.

Note that changing the hostname via Plesk is the best option, since it makes the hostname change persistent across reboots.

Anyway, if the problem persists, just report back.....

Regards!

Thank you for the help.
I didn't notice that I was redirected to the "original" server hostname, because I already changed it.

It was a strange behavior of plesk, the configuration you're talking about didn't take effect until reboot. Indeed i checked via shell running hostname command that returned the original hostname.

After a reboot everything works normally. If I change the hostname via plesk, the configuration is applied without reboot.

The important thing is that now it's ok, thank you again!
