• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Question Plesk remote (encrypted) backup option

I want to store backups externally but from my understanding I can only host them on Google, Acronis and so on.
Is it sufficant to just use a backup password if I want to place it on a second server (via FTP) or Drive (e. g. if they get compromised, the backup isnt of any use).
Or is there any ways to store the backup on a encrypted drive such as MEGA, ProtonDrive etc. From my understanding Google/OneDrive are not encrypted and anyone with Google´s permission can enter it (lets say the government as an example, just so I specify what Im looking for, my keys only, my access only)

I dont really get the [...enable backup encryption on the cloud storage side.] part.

Hello! Currently, Plesk has native integrations with several cloud services:

The integration with mentioned storages are yet to be implemented, you could vote for it here:

In general, Plesk's password-protected backups are sufficient if the password is very strong and makes it impossible for an attacker to reveal backup data if the security of your external backup storage is compromised:
