  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Plesk v10.2.0 - Add components - How to upgrade to PHP 5.3.8??

Hello folks,

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I am new to having a VDS and I'm a bit Linux handicapped, so be gentle please!

I have an application that will not install on my VDS, stating that it needs php 5.2 or better. My current install is 5.1.6 which is what came with the VDS package. I see that 5.3.8 is out and stable, so I am a few versions behind!

When I go through the Plesk to update/add components through Parallels it shows "php5 support"...but no way to update. I don't see any way through the control panel anywhere to do this.

I used PUTTY to access the server in superuser mode. Did # YUM UPDATE PHP
It did not seem to change anything:

I have several sites hosted on the server and I wanted to upgrade, versus removing the 5.1.6 and custom settings. I would assume there is an easy way to update to the newest version without taking down the whole thing?

Hosting is GoDaddy VDS, if that makes any difference. I'm not sure what to do at this point.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Run /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/autoinstaller and select in menu "PHP5.3 support".

Thanks! Tech support also got back to me at the same time....quite unexpected on a late Sunday evening.

Turned out I just needed to check for updates from the OFFICIAL Parallels server and not the mirror. For some reason the mirror was the default and didn't have anything new listed. Like usual, some setting preprogrammed by GoDaddy to make my life miserable for an hour or two.

Got Plesk updated AND the php5.3 in a matter of minutes after your reply. THANK YOU!
