Hello!
I am writing solely to provide feedback on Plesk360, the official WebPros monitoring agent used to monitor Plesk servers. For context: I have been using it continuously since 2022, so this is not the impression of a bad week or a misconfiguration. It is feedback based on years of real-world, production usage (had 19 Plesk servers, now many less).
Until a couple of years ago, it was mostly acceptable. Agents occasionally broke after updates, but nothing catastrophic. Over the last two years, however, it has become an absolute nightmare.
The “No data received” error has effectively turned into an office meme. On a monthly basis, I am not exaggerating when I say I receive 10+ notifications, per server, for this error alone, each one triggering alerts, false positives, and unnecessary panic. The agent behaves terribly: it fails to update, fails to uninstall cleanly, fails to reinstall, and often ends up stuck in a broken state that requires manual intervention. While I’m writing this, my colleagues are trying to figure out what the hell happened on yet another server.
At this point, I have spent far more time babysitting broken agents than actually maintaining the servers themselves, which completely defeats the purpose of monitoring.
Frankly, I am increasingly dissatisfied with the direction Plesk has taken in recent years, and this agent is one of the reasons that—out of sheer exhaustion—I am actively shutting down Plesk servers in favor of other control panels.
Plesk needs to seriously improve not only its core product, but also its integrations. At its current price point, issues of this magnitude are simply unacceptable.
If anyone asks for advice, my recommendation is to use any monitoring solution other than the official Plesk360 agent.
Have a good day to all.
PS: yeah, it's AI written, but just for the language translation.
