I would like to migrate to a new server. Iám using the pleskbackup - restore option.

Live server: Linux SuSE 10.0 i386 with Plesk 9.3.0 fully updated.
New server: Linux SuSE 11.1 64 bit with Plesk 9.3.0 also fully updated.

I did a full server backup and splitted it in 700MB archives. When I try to restore the archives on the new server there are some errors:

This issue occurs on migration of domains/subdomains that have site application installed in document root directory -- list of malformed paths is passed to 'tar' to extract from archive. It is known problem and fixed for Plesk 9.5.0 version which will be released soon. (I have no any ETA when).

Thnx for you quick reply. Are there any workarounds, or other options to do a server hardware update without using the pleskbackup -restore.

I deleted the host IP in the logs. Can you make sense of this?

Hi Igor,

First of all, Thank you for your efforts to help me.

Correct me if I am wrong, but since I (a paying customer cant restore my backups due to a bug in 9.3 which is fixed in 9.5 (ETA unknown) and I haven't been able to migrate using the Migration Manager because of an other bug ... is it? I am now in trouble. I have to hope my server stays online till Plesk 9.5 is released. I find that very troubeling.

Are there any other options. I cant believe that i am alone in having these troubles. Should I buy support from Plesk.

Please advise.

Try to use the PleskX.pl script. It in /usr/local/psa/agents/PleskX. You can make a dump of the whole server, or by domain. It worked for me, after trying everything else.
