Resolved Problem after DB migration

dennis_81

Basic Pleskian
Hello,

I have moved my website from my old hoster with MySQL to Plesk with MariaDB. I have mounted the database correctly and can also see it via PHPMyAdmin.

In my db_conect.php script I only changed the connection data in this script

Code:
<?php

$mysqlhost='1.2.3.4'; // MySQL-Host angeben
$mysqluser='username'; // MySQL-User angeben
$mysqlpwd='password'; // Passwort angeben
$mysqldb='da_name'; // Gewuenschte Datenbank angeben

$mysqli = new mysqli($mysqlhost, $mysqluser, $mysqlpwd, $mysqldb) or die (mysql_error()); //("Verbindungsversuch fehlgeschlagen");
;
mysqli_query($mysqli, "SET NAMES 'utf8'");
?>

Unfortunately, after this I get no database connection.

Code:
AH01071: Got error 'PHP message: PHP Warning: mysqli::__construct(): (HY000/2002): Connection refused in /var/www/vhosts/mydomain.de/httpdocs/includes/db_connect.php on line 10PHP message: PHP Warning: mysqli_query(): Couldn't fetch mysqli in /var/www/vhosts/mydomain.de/httpdocs/includes/db_connect.php on line 12PHP message: PHP Warning: mysqli_query(): Couldn't fetch mysqli in /var/www/vhosts/mydomain.de/httpdocs/includes/cookies.php on line 4'

What could be the reason for this?
Do I need to adjust anything else in another place?
Do I have any other debugging options here to see what exactly the problem is?

Thank you
Dennis

I was able to solve the problem myself in the meantime:

The host must be set to "localhost" and must not point to the IP or domain name, even if remote access to the DB is enabled.
