today I've installed Plesk 8.1.0 from Debian Sarge 3.1 Plesk 8.0.1.
After installation I get the status mail with the following lines:
All stages of the upgrade were successful.
Plesk is now running on your system.
To complete the system configuration process, please proceed to URL:
...
Use 'admin' and '<YOUR ADMIN PASSWORD>' as login name and password.
Further, use the following commands to start and stop the system:
/etc/init.d/psa start and
/etc/init.d/psa stop respectively.

* WARNING: Some problems occured during upgrade. You need to
* check log file
* /tmp/psa_8.1.0_debian3.1.build81061129.22_upgrade.log
* to fix these problems.
********************************************************************
If I look at the given file, there is not additonal information but only the same, no there is less because after this line there are only 2 lines instead of a lot more (like in the mail).
The end of the file:
Install command execution success
Installation done.
Exit with OK status

Plesk autoinstaller.
Now, if I do the follow:
plesk:~# /etc/init.d/psa checkservice
/etc/init.d/psa: line 527: /sbin/chkconfig: No such file or directory
/etc/init.d/psa: line 527: /sbin/chkconfig: No such file or directory
/etc/init.d/psa: line 527: /sbin/chkconfig: No such file or directory
/etc/init.d/psa: line 527: /sbin/chkconfig: No such file or directory
/etc/init.d/psa: line 527: /sbin/chkconfig: No such file or directory
/etc/init.d/psa: line 527: /sbin/chkconfig: No such file or directory
/etc/init.d/psa: line 527: /sbin/chkconfig: No such file or directory
