  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Problem with DNS

JordiC

New Pleskian
Good morning!

I have a dedicated server with Plesk 9.3 and only one IP shared. I have several domains in this server and when I create a new domain, I always have problems with the DNS.

The problem is that when I write the URL without WWW it works, but if I write it with WWW it doesn't work, and it opens the default Plesk page. It's not a problem of the DNS propagation because it happens since several days ago.

Hereby I attach my DNS template.

<domain>. NS ns.<domain>.
<domain>. A <ip>
<domain>. MX (10) mail.<domain>.
<domain>. TXT v=spf1 +a +mx -all
<ip> / 24 PTR <domain>.
ftp.<domain>. CNAME <domain>.
mail.<domain>. A <ip>
ns.<domain>. A <ip>
webmail.<domain>. A <ip>
www.<domain>. CNAME <domain>.

Can anyone give me the solution to the problem?

Thank you in advance!

I have the same problem !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a Windows Server 2008 with Plesk 9.5 and 2 IPs shared. I have 2 domains in this server. I can access URLs like mydomain.com but I cant access URLs like www.mydomain.com.

I tried to create a CNAME DNS entry with www and canonical name mydomain.com, but it doesn't work. Then, I read this post (after 3 days!!!) but I dont know how to "ServerAlias www.MyDomain.com set in your conf file"...

Can anyone help me ?

(I'm in Brazil, then, I have a poor english... I'm sorry!)
