Problem with Firewall/Ftp

I have a box with 1and 1 with Plesk 7.5. Now with the package, 1and1 include a 1&1 External Firewall (Cisco). The problem I have is each time I turn it ON, I cant access my server with ftp on all my account. If I turn if OFF, ftp is working fine. So what's the problem? If I have to configure it, what is the rule I have to put to make it work safely.

I had the same problem also till I modified the external firewall rules. It doesn't have to be exactly like what I did below.


Go to the 1and1 Cisco Firewall module.

Edit the active rule set.

Add the following rule.

Remote IP: ALL
Protocol: TCP
Remote Port: Any
Local Port: Single Port = 21
Action: Allow
Status: Active


That is the rule I added and it works for me.

Thank you, you fixed the problem

Now, I have another one. I transfered all my files on the server (inclued index.html) but I still have the original UNDER CONSTRUCTION PAGE. I dont know why, I have my own index.html file but the server still display the original one. Dont worry, I already flushed the cash on my browser ;-) Hope you have a good answer for me ;-)

The folder /httpdocs on my server

There usually are several.

Was it something like the following?

/home/httpd/vhosts/default/httpdocs

There is a : /home/httpd/vhosts/default/htpdocs if I use the root access.

But I can see the domains name under : /home/httpd/vhosts

If I use ftp, I logged under the right domain so I transferted all my files under /httpdocs from ftp.
