• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Problems sending to postfix

Hello,

I may be about to ask a stupid question but I am stumped on this.

I initially got a call asking why an email had been bounced.

This is the error in the logs:
Mar 26 18:44:09 webhost postfix/pipe[15782]: DD8D155789C8: to=<user@receivingdomain.com>, orig_to=<alias@receivingdomain.com>, relay=plesk_virtual, delay=0.72, delays=0.62/0.01/0/0.1, dsn=5.7.1, status=bounced (Message can't be delivered )

This then caused me to discover I couldn't do the following:

When telneting to the Plesk server and issuing the following commands I get an error:

helo testdomain.com
250 host.mydomain.com
mail from:me@testdomain.com
250 2.1.0 Ok
rcpt to: valid@mydomain.com
250 2.1.5 Ok
DATA
354 Start mail input; end with <CRLF>.<CRLF>
Subject: Test

Body of Message

.
221 2.7.0 Error: I can break fules, too. Goodbye

Never before have I had an issue with this set of commands but this is from troubleshooting Exchange mostly. What is it that postfix doesn't like or does this lead us to the answer to the initial question.

Any help would be appreciated.

Can it be reproduced only with these addresses? As far as I remember this is known problem -- in Postfix e-mail addresses starting with 'info', 'postmaster', 'support', 'root', 'anonymous' and 'abuse' are reserved for internal use. But I suppose also that Postfix packages was not correctly installed/updated there. Try to switch to Qmail and then back to Postfix (http://kb.odin.com/en/5801) and rebuild mailsettings with

/usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/mchk --with-spam

Thank you for your reply.

The commands within a telnet session are rejected after the data command whether I am sending to an info address or not. There are several domains running through the server all receiving email correctly even if I try to send email to one of these accounts via telnet I get the '221 2.7.0 Error: I can break fules, too. Goodbye' message.

Is this an issue with my postfix config (which is untouched sinse default install) or am I entering a command incorrectly somewhere.

Many thanks
