Problems upgrading from Plesk 8.1.0 to 8.2.X on FreeBSD 6.1

It appears that the autoinstaller is looking in rather weird places for it's make.conf (/local/etc/make.conf in this case which of course does not exist), amongst other oddities.

There is scant instruction on how to use the downloaded "manual" installation packages in order to get these running.

Anyone done this upgrade or did you make a fresh install and trust the migration manager?
