Protect Website with a Passwort

HannesM

New Pleskian
Hi,

i am very new in this material. I choose a model for my website at Presece Builder 11.5.13.

So my problem is, that i want to protect the complete website with a password.

How can i create a starting page where you can registrate you and after that you will get on the real website?

Please help me! Thank you very much!

Hello Hannes,

Welcome to this forum!

Web Presence Builder (WPB) provides a built-in option to restrict access to a certain page for only one user (= 1 username and password), see http://download1.parallels.com/Ples...k-customer-guide/index.htm?fileName=70317.htm.

If you are using Plesk you could restrict the access to the whole website, see http://download1.parallels.com/Plesk/PP11/11.5/Doc/en-US/online/plesk-customer-guide/65152.htm. However, to manage users you need access to Plesk Panel.

Currently, WPB itself does not provide an access restriction for more than one user, see this thread: http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?283650-Building-A-Member-Area.

If you think that this should be implemented feel free to vote for the suggestion at https://wpbuilder.uservoice.com/for...s/suggestions/5827236-password-protected-area.

Does this information help?

So i can't protect my complete Website with Presece builder. Only Subpages?
I only need one username and password.

So i have to create one main page and on this main page i can create a password saved subpage where all my rather subpages are linked in

If you use Plesk you could protect the complete Website by protecting the root directory (e.g. httpdocs) with a username and password.

If you use Web Presence Builder you could create a protected main page and create subpages in it - or - you could create several main pages and protect them all with the same username and password. Documents and images will not be protected because WPB stores them in separate directories on the server. However, you could give them the same username and password in Plesk. The image folder is "/attachments", the documents folder is "/data/documents". Does this work for you?
