Qmail databytes limit not working

Hello,

I tried changing qmail databytes limit to 10 MB (/var/qmail/control/databytes) but I still get the 552 error "that message size exceeds my databytes limit" while sending a 8 MB e-mail

I tried :
- editing /var/qmail/control and reloading qmail with /etc/init.d/qmail reload
- using the control panel

None worked. The control panel does change the /var/qmail/control/databytes file the same way I do, but it seems qmail doesn't use it, even if qmailctl shows :

# /var/qmail/bin/qmail-showctl |grep -i data
databytes: SMTP DATA limit is 10240000 bytes.

Is there something hard-coded ?
I didn't find any answer in this forum nor a patch on the website.

Thanks for your help

Laurent
