The aliases are only used for "local" deliveries.

Add 'nameof.myhost.com' to your /var/qmail/control/locals file and restart qmail.

This will allow your aliases to be used.

Ok, I put my serverhostname in locals and now the log is:

Now root appears as local, but deivering fails, without any error code!!!!

Thanks

What is in your .qmail-root file in the /var/qmail/alias/ directory?

What are the permissions/ownership of that file?

My /var/qmail/alias contains and have this permissions and ownership:

-rw-r--r-- 1 root qmail 26 Apr 25 11:26 .qmail-mailer-daemon
-rw-r--r-- 1 root qmail 25 Apr 4 20:22 .qmail-postmaster
-rw-r--r-- 1 root qmail 26 Apr 25 11:25 .qmail-root

Thanks

What is in the .qmail-root file itself?

cat /var/qmail/alias/.qmail-root

cat /var/qmail/alias/.qmail-root

&[email protected]

the real email where messages to root must be sent.
.qmail-postmaster and .qmail-mailer-daemon contain the same email address.

Any more?

Okay, I am stumped now.

locals uses the alias dir for its entries.

Just to make sure... the domain you are using isn't listed in the rcpthosts or virtualdomains is it?

Also, is the hostname in the ./me file or is this a different hostname?

I have 2 domains in my site, and its names are in rcpthosts.
And the ./me contains the proper hostname of my server.
I can receive mail sent to [email protected] from remote (email in another server), qmail forward the message to the email in alias file. Thats all right, but it doesn't deliver a message sent in this way :

mail -s "subject" root

and this is important for several scripts that send reports to root.

Any idea?

Have you tried adding the server hostname to /var/qmail/control/locals, like stupidnic suggested? That should fix this problem (which I believe is a Plesk bug).
