    Greetings all,

I have a question about qmail inbound mail received headers.

Our server has a number of virtual domains. When mail arrives the "Received" header is updated by qmail with one of our virtual domain names.

    Example:
    Received: from plesk.com (69.64.46.29) by dottsfamily.com with SMTP; 8 Feb 2006 12:36:12 -0600

The domain "dottsfamily.com" is just one of many virtual domains on our server. When the next message arrives the received header domain name will be different but another of our virtual domains.

Is there a way to get qmail to always identify itself as a particular domain and not cycle through all the virtual host domains?

    Thanks,
    GDD

    Hi GDD,

The answer to your qeustion is already somewhere in the forum....I can know, found it here myself :)

It's quite simple, in /var/named/run-root/var you have a rev-dns fille......it the one with your ip-address reverse...
    (ends with in-addr.arpa)

Make sure in this file has only 1 PTR record.....to the domain name you want!

Don't forget to raise the serial and restart named....

    Brgds,

    Maarten

Perfect! Thanks Maarten. I figured it was something simple and related to DNS.

    Thanks again,
