  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Hi Peter Kuhlmann,

could you pls. explain, what is unclear with the additional information/documentation:

*.<Plesk_IP>.<domain_name>.
where <domain_name> is the name of the domain, and <Plesk_IP> is the IP address of the Plesk server with dots(.) for IPv4 or colons :)) for IPv6 are replaced with dashes (-). For example, if your Plesk IP address is 192.168.10.20, and the name of the domain you want to use is example.com, the "A" record will look like this:
*.192-168-10-20.beispiel.com.

2.) Goto the DNS Template
Pls. don't forget, to modify the DOMAIN - specific DNS - settings and not the serverwide DNS - template. ;)
=> HOME > Subscriptions > YOUR-DOMAIN.COM > DNS Settings

Ah, ok! Therefore I have to add/change the DNS for each domain where I want to have the preview.
Are the following settings are right? But where I have add the external domain name? My external domain is "grafiknet.de".

Hi Peter Kuhlmann,

But where I have add the external domain name? My external domain is "grafiknet.de".
You certainly have to ADD the external domain over your Plesk Control Panel, in order to manage the depending DNS - settings.

I think you might have some kind of misunderstanding of this feature here, as it is certainly impossible to have a preview for external domains, if you don't host the content on your server. If your domain is "joomlaplates.org" on server A with the IP XXX.XXX.XXX.XX1 and you would like a preview for this domain over the external domain "grafiknet.de" ( server B with IP XXX.XXX.XXX.XX2 ), then this is certainly not possible to configure.

This feature is meant to be used for (sub)domains, which are not yet connected to any nameserver, so that you are still able to preview the configured content over a hosted IP on your server.
