• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

Resolved Quota and BTRFS

NMX

New Pleskian
Hello everybody,

is it possible to use btrfs with the feature quota in the plesk product?

And can you please tell me what filesystems are supported from the usrquota command?

Plesk Onyx support disk quota on Ext4 or XFS filesystems.
Check if quota is activated:

# /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/usermng --isquotable

If it returns '0', it means that quota is supported on the server.
"1" hard disk quota is not supported due to configuration of server file system.

okay thank you very much!
I get as return value 0 and it works with ext4. But BTRFS isn't supported, or?!

I think that if you enable quota support on FS level and get 0 in the output of command above, Plesk will try to use it at least :)

sorry, but i forgot to tell you, that i actually use ext4 and want to use btrfs as the filesystem (i'm a fan of btrfs :)).
Okay. I will try to use btrfs as filesystem and i'm going to post here the solution...

so i tried to use BTRFS with usrquota. But the problem is that BTRFS implements quota a little bit different as ext or zfs:

BTRFS creates subvolumes for the directory and so it isn't possible to use the software solution quota on an btrfs filesystem.
