  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Redirect to server hostname

GarDouth

New Pleskian
I have set the server hostsname to cp.mycompany.co.uk and if I go to https://cp.mycompany.co.uk:8443 it directs to the Plesk Panel with no problems. I have installed an SSL certificate and applied it to the panel. So that part is all good.

The issue is that if a customer uses their own domain to get to the panel such as http://customer-domain.co.uk:8443, it will open the panel login but of course that domain doesn't have an SSL certificate applied to it so they get a browser error which looks quite bad.

So, is their any way to always redirect customers who enter :https://customer-domain.co.uk:8443 to the main panel login at https://cp.mycompany.co.uk:8443?

I have a couple of hundred customers so it would not be practical to manually add some kind of re-direct to each one. Is there some server setting I could change to always apply this? To be honest, I would happy to just disable allowing the customer to get to the panel in that way.

I'm guessing some kind of port redirect??? I have fiddled about with firewall rules but I can't see a way of doing it without blocking the panel for everyone (including me)! Seems a bit silly that Panel allows this at all really as no one is going to shell out money to add an SSL certificate to every domain!

Server is running CentOS 6.4 and Plesk Panel 11.5.29.
