• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Question reject emails based on ip address

Michael Gabriel

New Pleskian
is there any semi-official way to reject mail per ip address ?
the blacklist under mail settings only accepts domain names and not ip addresses.
and i cant use check_sender_access cause plesk recreates that file.

can i write to the db table with the mail blacklist and thus skip the domain name format check ? anyone tried ?

i dont really want to block everything in the firewall.
rejecting would be more informative to the sender.

in the meantime maybe upvote:
Add to Server-Wide Black List and White List block by IP adress and DOMAIN name.

How about if you use "Switch on spam protection based on DNS blackhole lists:" in Tools & Settings > Mail Server Settings.

im already using two lists, but many are too strict or too weak for my taste and there are still spam wave spikes from certrain ips that dont appear in those list at all or only weeks later.
