• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Rename Database Prefix

If someone renames their domain and tries to create a new database, the prefix remains the same.

ex: Bob has domain foobar.com. He renames it to barfoo.com. He then creates a database, but it has the prefix foobar_.

Is there some way to change this without deleting and recreating the site, or is this a bug? Or is it just not doable with the Plesk schema (bar the recreation)?

Hi, there. Typically, domain name prefixes are tied to users rather than domain names. Could you please navigate to Tools & Settings > Database Hosting Preferences and confirm what's the option selected for Add a prefix and underscore to the beginning of database names/Add a prefix and underscore to the beginning of database user names? If that's set to "Username" - one way of changing the prefix is editing the Login user of the current subscription owner (Customers > example_user > Change Login Info).
