Hi

I have several domains with one IP address and have tried to set up the PTR record so that I get a reverse DNS for one of the domains, but it doesnt seem to work?

Domain is irexsystems.co.uk (mail.irexsystems.co.uk)

I am not a tech!!

Any assistance appreciated!

Thanks

I asume it is vps.net.
Maybe you could find somewhere in control panel how to set reverse DNS record, if not you should contact provider to do that for you.

If you are trying to setup reverse DNS for a mail server you might be going about it the wrong way.
Reverse DNS is handled by the company that provides your IP addresses.
You would need to contact them and give them the setup you want.

Usually you send your ISP the following.

I need reverse dns setup with the following:

216.156.201.11 mail01.yourdomain.com
216.156.201.12 mail02.yourdomain.com
216.156.201.13 mail03.yourdomain.com
216.156.201.14 mail04.yourdomain.com

I hope this helps.

Jorge
