  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Run both Tomcat and PHP

New Pleskian
I am going to buy Plesk V.12 but there is some question that I would like to confirm before ordering this great program. My server is running both tomcat and php at the moment and using forwarding port technique. I am not quite sure about how Plesk manage this solution. Could anyone please advice me on this matter. Another thing, will this bring me into the trouble in the future? Thank you in advance.

Looking forward to hearing every solution.

Not sure that already installed Tomcat and php will work correctly in Plesk. Plesk should be installed over clean Windows installation (more details in Plesk Installation Guide). After that PHP and Tomcat can be installed as Plesk Components and Plesk will be able to manage them.

I have been told to uninstall everything before installing Plesk, I am fine to do so. My worry is about how Plesk manages PHP and Tomcat. My server needs to run both PHP and Tomcat together, I got only one serve right now. Does it just use forward technique or something else? Will it consume my resource's server a lot? Please kindly advice.

There a lot of Plesk servers where PHP, Tomcat, ASP.NET, Python, Perl, etc. successfully operate together. I do not understand what's the problem here? These different webscript technologies can work together on any hosting platform.

I am sorry for making you misunderstand. My point is I have been facing the problem on using both PHP and Tomcat together on my server. It is somehow impact my server to run Java (website and web application) extremly slow. My server needs to restart every night. I do not know Plesk is the best solution that could solve this problem.

This common problem with low performance can be caused by a lot of reasons and it is not depends on Plesk installed or not. This issue should be investigated, troubleshooted and fixed directly on your server.
