Secondary DNS?

Usualy you should run two DNS Servers in different subnets.

I have not yet been able to find any documentation on how the configuration of the secondary DNS Server is done from within plesk. There must be some kind of mechanism to submit the config and reload the secondary, but how is it done? Or do I also have to install plesk on the secondary? And then how do I make the two servers know each other?

Hi,

Plesk manage dns server that is installed on the same box only.

It is not necessary to have Plesk installed on the secondary dns server.

But you will have to add secondary dns server ip to the acl list in Plesk to allow zone transfers: Plesk -> Server -> dns -> Common ACL
