• Hi, Pleskians! We are running a UX testing of our upcoming product intended for server management and monitoring.
We would like to invite you to have a call with us and have some fun checking our prototype. The agenda is pretty simple - we bring new design and some scenarios that you need to walk through and succeed. We will be watching and taking insights for further development of the design.
If you would like to participate, please use this link to book a meeting. We will sent the link to the clickable prototype at the meeting.
  • (Plesk for Windows):
MySQL Connector/ODBC 3.51, 5.1, and 5.3 are no longer shipped with Plesk because they have reached end of life. MariaDB Connector/ODBC 64-bit 3.2.4 is now used instead.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.

Question Security Concerns

Pentarou

Basic Pleskian
Hi everyone,

As I review my Plesk logs, I am increasingly concerned about the security of my server. I have updated Plesk to the latest version, enabled MFA, and utilize a private key for SSH login. Additionally, I employ an external firewall and have ensured that services such as the database cannot be accessed from outside sources.

However, my logs are increasingly displaying suspicious entries, such as instances where my database username is being used to log in to the mail server. I'm unsure where this information was obtained. Furthermore, I have observed entries like the one below, which correspond to a domain that I have not registered or associated with.

There are many more strange logs that indicates an attack, should I be worried?

This doesn't necessarily has to mean your server is being attacked. I could be that some else has made a mistake in configuring their DNS and accidentally used your servers IP. However, sadly, every server is constantly being probed for weaknesses, mostly by bots. Nothing to worry about too much. It does not mean your server is deliberately being 'targeted'.
