Serious Problem Installing Plesk

I have tried installing Plesk-8.1 5 times today. Each time, a complete format / reinstall. The first time I got the message below. (That was on Debian 3.1). I started again, and couldn't get past downloading all the sources. It appeared that security.debian.org didnt have mysql-server-5.0. My 4th Attempt was ubuntu-6.0.6 with default sources.list gave the same problem as Debian. A 5th reinstall with of ubuntu gave me more luck. PSA installed, but now when i log into the machine, put in administrator details, I get the following error. (Exactly where I was after my first install).

Please try help me, this is now becoming serious.

It seems you might have access to a quick vps OS reload perhaps?

Anyway, you might try a redhat variant, ie FC3/4/5 or CentOS4 or 5.

I have personally seen a lot more support for RH variants with Plesk. ART is my freaking hero =P

Keep this in mind when it comes time to update PHP and MySQl..

Thanks for the reply.

I'm sure the problem is OS related, but I have been scared of Centos and other RH variants. I have asked sw-soft to help me fix it, and await their feed back. At this point, I can tell you that it is almost impossible to install Plesk on Debian as the sources do not match what the installer is looking for.

I have been down for 4 days now, and if this is not sorted out soon I will have to resort to using Centos and hope for better luck there.
