"Service Unavailable" after new installation

I installed plesk 8.3 in a new VPS on fedora 4. when access <ip>:8443 I get ino a control panel of PLESK with message "Service Unavailable". All menu 'clients''domains' .... return the same errors. Only the menu virtuozzo work fine.

Surprisingly the password for plesk's admin username is the VPS's admin password, and not 'setup' which is the standard default password for fresh installation. So for any reason plesk installed in the VPS is ignored. All services are running OK (httpd.....) , the config file zz_010_psa_http is ok...

nb: can it be due to the fact that the domain I have assigned to the plesk machine is not yet pointing to that IP address. I dont think so since I access PLESK with the IP address, but who knows...

Any hint?

yes, sure, many hints: first of all, disable "offline management" for VE with Plesk. check http://kb.swsoft.com/en/659.
then you will know the exact error. after this diagnostics will go way faster

I disabled it, <IP>:8443 remains silent (http and https). I get the server default page with https://<IP>:443 - I check zz010_psa_httpd.conf, it looks the same as another VPS which is OK in regards to 8443.

Where should I find the config related to port 8443? I only see 433 in all http conf files.

Thks & Regards,

Flupke

This rings a little bell in my head that says something to do with firewalls and the IP of the Service VE.

Can you SSH into the VPS (Container)?

If so check for any firewall rules - make sure 8443 is open. Obviously it should be. But just in case.

Faris.

Service Unavailable usually means a 503 error - is there something in the domain or plesk web log that is usefull?
