Set /httpdocs as root for FTP Access?

Is there any way to set /httpdocs as the "root" access via FTP? so that when clients FTP into their account on our server, they cannot leave the /httpdocs folder?

We have a script that publishes client websites via FTP. One of the commands CD .. takes the FTP commands out of /httpdocs and is causing all kinds of problems because all of the website files and directories should be created in the /httpdocs folder only.

Our vendor is telling me that it is standard for /httpdocs to be the only folder accessible via FTP by the client. But if I FTP into a client account I see all of the other default directories that Plesk sets up.

Is there any way I can restrict access to ONLY the /httpdocs folder, so that no matter what CD.. command is used it will redirect only to the /httpdocs folder?

Any advice is welcome, and I'd really like to know if our vendor is correct or if there is something else I'm missing here.

Thanks
