Set up PDO connection to remote MySQL

Peter Downes

Basic Pleskian
Hi Forum

I have self-managed VPS (with root access) and a managed server with admin access.

I'd like to set up a connection from a website on the VPS to a database on the managed server.

$dsn = 'mysql:host=11.11.111.111;port=3306;dbname=xxxxxx';
$user = "xxxxxxx";
$pass= "xxxxxxxxxx";

The MySQL server rule on the Firewall on the source server is set to Allow incoming from all.

Sorry for such a beginner question.

Can anybody suggest a set of resources to set up the correct configuration?
Many Thanks
