Setting up a website.

Heya, I put all the website files /var/www but when I try accessing the website I keep getting the default generic PLESK web page.

It says I need to set up a domain, and I have, but I still keep the same error.

Any ideas?

RTFM?

You should put the files in the corrosponding dir to the vhost you set up in Plesk.

Ie. /var/www/vhosts/mydomain.com/httpdocs

also make sure you overwrite, or delete, the index.html that is placed there by default.

I've set that up and copied it over to the proper vhost directory, but how do I make it so that my IP points to that dir?

I keep getting the same generic plesk message even after I deleted index.html.

EDIT: I can view the site just fine in the preview button, but cant access it via http://<server ip>/

dns settings are ok ?

( check it with http://www.dnsreport.com )

or is it set as default domain for that ip ?

Thats what I dont know how to do I guess, all I want is to set up a simple webpage I could access via IP. I never registered any domain and do not intend to, I just set up a domain because (I think) PLESK requires it.

How do I set it as the default domain for the IP?

Agreed. This is what my VPS provided me with, so I just wanna get it to work. :(
