Slow transfer speed on Migration Manager

I'm trying to migrate from one Plesk Plus 8.1 server to another in different data centers. I can SSH files back and forth between the two servers at rates exceeding 60 Mbps, yet the migration manager moves at a slow 2-3 Mbps. This is not acceptable when moving 80 GB of data, and hundreds of domains. Can any explain why this is? Searching for other forum posts, I'm not the only one experiencing this issue.

Either I need a resolution to speeding up plesk migration manager or find a different way of moving all my clients.
