• The new Python extension is now available. It allows customers to deploy and manage WSGI-based Python applications on their websites directly from Plesk.
  • Debian 11 has reached its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.81 is the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Question Small business site on Plesk, what is your simple backup, email and SSL checklist?

Kacey Noms

New Pleskian
Hi everyone, I am Kacey, a letting agent based in Birmingham. Our agency website runs on Plesk, and I am not very technical, I just need the site to work reliably because landlords and tenants use it every day to contact us and view listings.

I have had three small problems already, and I would love a simple checklist from people who do this properly:

  1. Backups, how often do you back up a small business site, and do you keep a copy off the server as well?
  2. Email, after moving our domain, some of our emails to landlords started going to spam. I have checked SPF and DKIM, what else should a non-technical owner check first?
  3. SSL, we had a certificate auto-renew fail once and did not notice for a day. How do you keep an eye on expiry without checking it manually every week?
I do not need anything fancy, just the basic routine you would tell a small business owner who cannot afford downtime. Thanks in advance for any help.
