  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Smtp relay for only a couple email addresses

smithmartin97

New Pleskian
Hello,

can anyone please tell me if I can set the relay open for only a few email addresses.

I have opened it before (Server wide) and had many issues, but I do need to have it open for a very limited number
of emails on our server. We host a quite a few domains, but only a small number need to actually send using our server.

SO is there any way without opening it UP for ALL email addresses on the server, sort of like on a per
email basis?

Thanks

MS

I've been asking for a per-user on/off switch for smtp authentication for ages. It is a standard feature in the qmail-toaster implementation of qmail, as far as I'm aware.

I could have sworn I added it to the Plesk Uservoice site (plesk.uservoice.com) but it seems to have vanished.

The only option is to disable authentication on port 25, and firewall 587 to only allow the IPs of the customers you want to allow to auth. (at least that's the case with qmail -- don't know about postfix, and since qmail is not going to be supported for much longer.....).

Hi,

what exactly is the usecase of non-auth SMTP?
Can you give an example?

I mean configuring this feature wrong, and you have an open relay.
So I do understand that Parallels does not really want to implement this feature.

Regards,
Kristian
