• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
    With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

I want to allow a user to SSH into his domain using a tool like SecureCRT rather than the Plesk SSH Terminal .

How do I accomplish this? I set up chrooted access but the ssh login fails.

mydomainname.tld >
Edit the properties of domain administrator's account

Management of shell access to server [_]
-->
Management of shell access to server [X]

[OK]

then go back to

Domain mydomainname.tld
The icon SSH-Terminal is then active.

I must be missing something because this doesnt seem to be working for me.

Is there a special format for the shell user login?

OMG - I cant believe I havent seen the answer before:

clients-> domain-> setup-> Shell access to server with FTP user's credentials

this defaults to no access. Dough!
