• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

SSL certificate

Ive been reading around, and think i have a hold of this, but Id like to be clear and help future searchers in the process.

I have a plesk 7.5 box with 1 shared IP for the box. I have 1 domain that wants a SSL cert for ecommerce.

I will need to get another IP address for the box in order to issue the certificate to the site itself, correct?

There is no way to assign a SSL from a third party (like thawte or rapidssl) to this single domain without assigning the domain to it's own IP, correct?

Thanks for your help!

That is the correct way, to have a dedicated IP for a domain which needs an SSL cert. There have been others who have developed different hacks, but I would not recommend them. Hosting admins should (IMO) not take shortcuts or hacks when it comes to security related items...
