• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Static IP Question

Hello,

I have a new Plesk server and I need to implement a firewall. I have read the posts about APF and the iptables.

However, I am interested in the Plesk firewall due to ease of use, I am new to Linux so the Plesk approach seems easier for me.

My question, Is it more secure using the Plesk firewall to have a static IP and select the option "Allow from selected sources, deny from others"?

Or is there a better approach that will save the money used for the static IP and be just as secure?

Thanks in advance,

Randal
