Is any easy way to stop active backup tasks? My system hangs when performing backup.
You can just kill backup processes at least.
Thanks for your quick reply, but I need to know which process to kill (to make sure I kill the correct process). I suspect the process is this one: 23229 root 20 0 4020 732 352 S 29 0.0 0:29.62 gzip It that correct?
Yes, gzip is one of backup process. Also you can try to find most loaded backup related process with top command.
I can not find any tasks in processlist, and in Plesk admin, there is one active backup task. It seems that I can not stop it. Any suggestion how to find this task (to stop it or kill it)?
This is really a hopeless situation ... why on earth can't I stop a backup job? It seems that our server started yet another backup after it finished the previous one after a reboot. And there is no way to stopping it. The responsetime on the server is so slow due to this.
