Question support for name+tag in local part of email addresses

mike-t

New Pleskian
Hi,

is there an option to enable support for 'name+tag' in the local part of email addresses?

e.g. [email protected], that a mail to [email protected] is delivered to [email protected]

For further references see https://people.cs.rutgers.edu/~watrous/plus-signs-in-email-addresses.html

Based on Issue - allowed characters for email address
> `+` character was banned in the scope of support of mail subaddressing (VERP-style) in 18.0.30 because it is usually used as a delimiter between local part of mailname and tag.

'+' is banned from the VERP scope __BECAUSE_IT_IS_USUALLY_USED_AS_A_DELIMITER__ - great, then it should be available for 'name+tag' usage like intended by this change, but I can't find any documentation how this future could be enabled.

There is also Support all RFC3696 local part characters
> The issue fixed (see #PPPM-12781 for reference) in the Plesk Obsidian 18.0.34 Change Log for Plesk Obsidian

which points to PPPB-12781
> If the “Enable email subaddressing” option is disabled, it is not possible to create email addresses that contain special characters. If Plesk already has mailboxes whose email
> addresses contain special characters, it is not possible to enable the option. (PPPM-12781)

but actually that's obviously about fix email address with support for special characters.

In the documentation mailserver: Mail Server Settings I found
--email-subaddressing-enabletrue|falseEnables or disables the ability to configure VERP-style email addresses for mailing lists on a Plesk server.
By default, VERP-style email addresses for mailing lists are enabled.
To enable VERP-style email addresses for mailing lists:
plesk bin mailserver --email-subaddressing-enable true

but again, it's about VERP for mailing lists.

Is there any option for 'name+tag' support?

Cheers
Michael
