Question The future of mailing list management?

For people over 75 years old who have a basic phone and don’t use WhatsApp and for important things that we want to keep a record; email is useful for storing records.

I don’t quite understand why Mailman is still being used, considering it’s quite outdated. There are more modern alternatives available, such as Sympa - Mailing List Management Software - Sympa
Modern? Initially written in 1997 in god old perl. Most of the source hasn't been touched in years and still uses old perl style constructs instead of "modern" perl. Perl "Objects" are handly stitched together with "bless" instead of modern perl modules like Moose, Moo or sth. else. So no Sympa is by far not a modern software in case of mailman. And I do not want have a boiling piece of junk lying aroung in my plesk servers doing webfrontend and mails - and I am doing perl for 20+ years.

Fair point — Sympa definitely has some legacy Perl code in it.
But since it’s an open-source project (https://github.com/sympa-community/sympa), maybe that’s actually a good opportunity for experienced Perl developers like you to help modernize it. Your 20+ years of Perl experience could make a real difference there.

Hi,

Is there any further update on Plesk support for mailman 3 on Alma Linux 9? This is, unfortunately, a critical issue for our company.
