  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

"The webmail component was not installed."

New Pleskian
I want to enable webmail for one of my domains in Plesk 12.0.18.

In Website & Domains → [my domain] → Mail Settings → Webmail, it does not offer any webmailer choices, it just says “The webmail component was not installed.”

That’s a lie. I installed Roundcube and Horde in Plesk’s component manger. Uninstalling and reinstalling does not help.

How can I fix this?

@kevang

Use the autoinstaller command line utility and try to re-install (i.e. remove and install) Roundcube and have a look whether this works.

It can be the case that this triggers a correct installation.

Regards....

Hello Kevang,

Another possible (though not very likely) scenario is that you have all webmail clients turned off in Tools & Settings > Webmail. Make sure that at least one webmail client is enabled. If a webmail client is enabled, and you are still seeing the "The webmail component was not installed." error, I would recommend you to contact our support team.
