  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Trying to restart Apache, ERROR: PleskFatalException

Hi,
On Suse Linux and using Plesk 8.6, when trying to restart apache within Plesk I get the error below,

0: /usr/local/psa/admin/plib/common_func.php3:190
psaerror(string 'Unable to make action: Unable to manage service by websrvmng: websrvmng: Service /etc/init.d/apache2 failed to restart')
1: /usr/local/psa/admin/htdocs/server/restart_services.php:28

Any ideas on how to fix it?

ps. I misstyped a chown -hR ssh command for some days ago, and after that it has stopped working, it's a permission problem, but I can't solve it myself.

Thanks in advance

Hello,

Might be the command you have executed created the mess but if you provide the location (path of the directory) where you have executed the command will be helpful. Also check for the errors in plesk logs for more information as the plesk is not able to start httpd service check for httpd error logs...

Thanks Maxmk,
The location was #/ (root of the system) very bad :(
There are no errors in error_log becouse the Apache / httpd services aren't running as they should be and no errors are logged.

The system went down totally, But I managed to recover almost everything, that time I installed Suse on another machine and repaired mine comparing it's permissions with the newly installed Suse, as said, that way I managed to fix almost all the problems, but it seems that this one is not for me.

Just move to the new server and be confident that you have a working system. Then remove your ability to use SSH :p
