Ubuntu Autoinstaller

Hello,
I try to run the ubuntu auto installer and I get this message: "No application suitable for automatic installation is avaible for handling this kind of file."

Any help would be great!
Thanks,
Adam

Be aware that only following versions of Ubuntu are supported in current Sitebuilder version: Ubuntu 6.06(x86, x86_64), 7.10(x86, x86_64)
Which version do you have? Also, which autoinstaller do you use and how? Could you specify it?

Thansk for the replay. When I open up terminal and type "lsb_release -a", it tells me I have Ubuntu 6.10. How do I check if I have (x86, x86_64). I know I do not have a 64bit version.

Thanks,
Adam

You can check the platform (x86 or x86_64) by running 'uname -a' command in your console. Anyway, as you have Ubuntu 6.10 installation will not work as this OS is not supported according to Sitebuilder requirements list:

http://www.parallels.com/en/products/sitebuilder/reqs:

Ubuntu 6.06(x86, x86_64), 7.10(x86, x86_64)

In this case I can suggest you to install Ubuntu 7.10 and try installation one more time.

ok. thanks.

If I have to reinstall, is there a version of linux plesk recommends? I am open to whatever will work best.

Thanks

Actually, it is up to you which OS to use (which OS you feel better with). I can only suggest to use latest OS version. For example, if it will be Fedora Core, use latest supported Fedora Core 7 version.

I just installed Ubuntu 7.10 and Same Problem! The file does not even have a file extension. Is that correct?

I need some help.

Thanks!

Could you specify how do you try the installation?

Instructions for installation are the following:

1. Download the Autoinstaller package for your OS from http://www.parallels.com/en/download/sitebuilder. In our case this will be http://download1.parallels.com/Site...ler_v3.3.0_build080201.09_os_Ubuntu_7.10_i386

# wget http://download1.parallels.com/Site...ler_v3.3.0_build080201.09_os_Ubuntu_7.10_i386

After that add proper permissions and run this file:

# chmod +x swsoft_installer_v3.3.0_build080201.09_os_Ubuntu_7.10_i386
#./swsoft_installer_v3.3.0_build080201.09_os_Ubuntu_7.10_i386

and select the Sitebuilder 4.2.0 component.
The installation procedure is run automatically.
