  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

TITLE

Umlaut domains that are added with "Add domain" button still don't create ACE compatible document root field content

PRODUCT, VERSION, OPERATING SYSTEM, ARCHITECTURE

CentOS 7.9, Obsidian 18.0.38 (issue exists since 15.x and earlier)

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION

When an umlaut domain is added with the "add domain" button to an existing account, the "document root" field is not populated automatically, e.g. with a transcription or ACE converted string. When an ascii domain is added, document root is populated automatically.

This is different when creating a subscription: Here the correct ACE converted string is used as a directory name for the subscription directory. So obviously Plesk knows the correct transcribe functions for IDN/ACE conversion. However these are not applied when adding a domain with the "add domain" button.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1) Click "add domain"
2) Enter an umlaut domain, e.g. "flötenunterricht"

ACTUAL RESULT

The moment you type the umlaut, e.g. ö in the example, the document root field is emptied.

EXPECTED RESULT

When an umlaut domain is entered, the script should transcribe it into an ACE string for the document root, e.g.
xn--fltenunterricht-9sb.de for the example.

ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The urgency of this issue comes with the fact that for each umlaut domain a separate conversion website has to be used to create a correct ACE directory string for the new document root directory. It's unnecessary work.
