Unable to access webmail

jiHymas

New Pleskian
I have enabled mail for himivest.com and can access my eMail via Opera Mail as a download.

However, I cannot access webmail. Typing "http://webmail.himivest.com/" into the address bar of my browser (Chrome) results in the message "No input file specified."

I believe this is a PHP setup error. I have tried disabling / enabling PHP support for himivest.com (in accordance with http://veritahost.biz/blog/php-throwing-no-input-file-specified-error/ ) but this had no effect.

What must I do to enable webmail?

Have you modified something in php.ini file?
Do you have Horde of other webmail?
Have you tried fix it with

"%plesk_bin%\websrvmng.exe" --reconfigure-webmail
"%plesk_bin%\defpackagemng.exe" --fix --type=webmail.horde

Apart from the above, please check whether the IIS has proper bindings for this domain in the webmail section.

1. (a) I have made one modification to the php.ini file, in accordance with the advice regarding my previous problem: adding "extension=php_soap.dll".
(b) In addition, I regularly receive eMail from "Parallels Panel Scheduler Notification" advising me that it is (directories omitted for brevity) Running task: php.exe -q -dauto_prepend_file"" -c php.ini "script.php"

2. I only have Horde.

3. I ran those two commands from the command line in the %plesk_bin% directory. There was a pause (presumably while the command ran), but no output.

*** I still get the message "No input file specified." when attempting to access http://webmail.himivest.com/. ***
*** I also attempted to access http://webmail.prefinfo.com/ (prefinfo is the host domain for himivest) and Chrome informs me that "This webpage is not available". This is not surprising because I haven't set up DNS for http://webmail.prefinfo.com/ ***

Apart from the above, please check whether the IIS has proper bindings for this domain in the webmail section.

I'm afraid I don't know what this means. How do I check this with IIS 8 under MS Windows Server 2012 Standard?

Well, I found this dialogue box: IISBinding.jpg

Is that what InderS means? What do I put? I want to get get my webmail from webmail.himivest.com

Yes, I mean exactly the same what is given in the snapshot, but instead of MailEnable Webmail, also check the Webmail(mewebmail) section that is at the bottom and check whether binding has been added to it.

Also, check if proper Webmail entry (A record) is added in the DNS to point it to your server where you have MailEnable.

I still can't get this to work.

To recapitulate: prefinfo.com is the main domain. himivest.com is a subdomain of prefinfo.com. There is a DNS record pointing to webmail.himivest.com. I want to read my eMail on-line by typing http://webmail.himivest.com into my browser.

I have fiddled with the bindings in an attempt to carry out the instructions of InderS, above. They now look like this:

Bindings of prefinfo.com: prefinfo-bindings.jpg

Bindings of himivest.com: himivest-bindings.jpg

Bindings of webmail(horde): webmail-horde-bindings.jpg

Bindings of MailEnable: MailEnable-Webmail-bindings.jpg

But something is very wrong. When I go to http://webmail.himivest.com with my browser, I am taken to the index page of prefinfo.com.

What changes must I make to which binding to get this to work properly?

Well, I guess Plesk doesn't support webmail.

I only got Plesk because it was recommended by my server supplier, which probably only means they got a good commission out of it.

Back to cPanel next time, for sure. Never had any problems with that.

A lot of customers successfully uses webmail on Plesk. Looks like that there is some misconfiguration on your server which can be determined by forum conversation. Therefore I would suggest you contact Support Team.
BTW, where you can find cPanel for Windows? Please share?

Webmail is supported by plesk. Please check what mail server entry is active in Plesk control panel

1. Login to Plesk >> Tools and Settings >> Server Components. Check the active mail server status here.

2. Check what mail server the accounts is configured with. (subscription >> account name >> Mail >> Here, check what is configured, whether it is mailenable, horde, or atmail?

I am unable to find either path 1 or path 2. When I log into Plesk I arrive at the following screen; the choices do not include either "Tools and Setting" or "Subscription". PleskStartPage.jpg

Under Plesk >> Server >> Tools & Settings | Server Management >> Server Components,
I get the following screen (partial), which tells me MailEnable Standard 7.0 is active: PleskServerSettings.jpg

Under Plesk >> Mail >> Change Settings I get the following screen, which tells me Horde IMP H3 (4.3.11) is active:PleskMailSettings.jpg

Is this the information you needed?

Lucky them.

Looks like that there is some misconfiguration on your server which can be determined by forum conversation.

It's entirely possible. I have attempted to have a conversation with my posts illustrating the bindings (January 19) and the mail server entries (February 9). However, all my friends now laugh at me for talking to myself. Ideally, there would be a downloadable diagnostic programme that would simply dump the server configuration into a file for analysis, but this does not appear to exist.

Therefore I would suggest you contact Support Team.

I am left unsure as to whether I should be having a forum conversation or contacting the Support Team. If the latter, how do I contact them?

Oh, Linux is good enough for me. I prefer Windows, but I'm not really too interested in the OS. It is vital that I have a good interface, so that I can do very straightforward things to run my very simple websites without having to become expert, or even knowledgeable, about the intricacies of whatever this week's OS is.
